Things to look for on w/b
Im looking to buy a used 42" toro w/b. The guy at the dealer told me it need a carb. job and that was the only thing wronge with it . Is there things I should look for that would tell me its a good mower or its a POS and I shouldn't buy it?

Make sure the frame is well together. Toros are known for the weld to break where the handle meets the engine support which will cause the tranny to wear out faster with the twisting of the handle.

If yes, demo it, if not, walk away till it is/does.

The guy at the dealer told me it will start for the most part then theres times it wont. This is why it needs a carb. job. I was thinking of demoing it this week.
