Well I don't think it has that many hours on it. Tillers don't normally get ran that many hours anyways. So I'm guessing things will improve with the carb work.

Working on my own stuff, I'll reuse gaskets if there isn't a lot of work involved in having to redo.

On some on else's equipment, I don't take any chances--I replace 'em--I don't like comebacks.

got pretty much the carb figured out.

still has a very rapid faint tick. which seems like its coming from in the motor.

kind of flutters it ticks for 2 seconds off 1 second. like a piece of tin ratteling against something...sound

any ideas? should i even worry about it.

i'm afraid i take it to the mechanic and states he can't hear anything

Check and adjust the valves.......
Or run it until the ticking becomes a knock....
That might make it easier to diagnose...
Have you checked the oil...is it clean...try 50W....

Oil is clean/new.

I could try heavier oil. Someone here stated that they are tappet's and not adjustable?.
Have to grind valves to length.
