Well I don't think it has that many hours on it. Tillers don't normally get ran that many hours anyways. So I'm guessing things will improve with the carb work.

Can I reuse the carb gasket? It came off clean. Looks ok. But I thought I'd aske the experts.

Working on my own stuff, I'll reuse gaskets if there isn't a lot of work involved in having to redo.
On some on else's equipment, I don't take any chances--I replace 'em--I don't like comebacks. |

got pretty much the carb figured out.
still has a very rapid faint tick. which seems like its coming from in the motor. kind of flutters it ticks for 2 seconds off 1 second. like a piece of tin ratteling against something...sound any ideas? should i even worry about it. i'm afraid i take it to the mechanic and states he can't hear anything

Check and adjust the valves.......
Or run it until the ticking becomes a knock.... That might make it easier to diagnose... Have you checked the oil...is it clean...try 50W.... Posted via Mobile Device |

I could try heavier oil. Someone here stated that they are tappet's and not adjustable?. Have to grind valves to length. Posted via Mobile Device |
