Solar lights, yard gnomes, hanging frickin bird feeders, and other general crap that shouldn't be in the lawns. All a PITA and I wish I could just run the crap over. I have taken a lapfull of bird seed after the feeder cracked me in the forehead only once. That feeder somehow fell off the tree and was crushed by a tire. All these accounts are charged extra weather they know it or not.

If you can't be bothered to take out a little time to do it right then maybe you're in the wrong business.

Yeah when I first started, I killed one on my first job trimming. Then the second time around, I knocked about half of the base off of another.. bot those were cheapos. I have one lawn that has about 6-8 of them in a line, and I trim around them and never hit them; But those are wired, so I can't yank 'em. I think its faster to yank em and then replace when you are done. Takes maybe an extra 2 minutes or something..

Hey thanks for the advice I will take it into consideration for the future. I love Lawnsite just for this kind of input.

I always love the comments containing the phrase: "you're in the wrong business" regardless of who that was directed to. My general response to this is "If I wanted to listen to an @$$hole, I'd fart." Thanks

Seriously.

Have you ever tried removing those cheap POS things and TRIED "putting them back"? You're more likely to break something doing that than trimming around them.

The metal ones are a pain, but at least you don't have to fear buzzing them in two.

God, I can't wait until this freaking W-mart two-dollar light fad is OVER.

Ha! I have one customer that has just installed about 20 of those suckers. I just trim around them but am careful to leave a small bunch of grass around them on purpose. If she says anything about it, which she hasn't yet, then I will explain that it takes more time and I will either raise my rate or she can remove them.

This has been exactly what I've seen happen when my co-worker pulled them out and went to put them back in the ground. Prime example of why I pose the question to "remove or work around".
