Just wondering
I operate my own, small lawn mowing business an have an 60" Exmark Lazer, 36" Exmark hydro WB, 48" Exmark belt WB and a 40" Toro WB. All of them were purchased used and have been trouble free requiring r/r only on the usual wear items. I have been able to perform all of my own repairs and maintenance so far.
Generally speaking, concerning the hydro machines, what sort of use puts the most stress on the the hydros and wheel motors? I change hydro fluid and filters every spring and put less than 150 hours on them so I am no where near the limits on that service interval. Additionally, I am the only operator. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Letting employees or other people that could care less operate your equipment, As long as you operate it with-in the boundaries that it was designed for, And keep the maintenance up, Issues will be few......

The thought is painting some ugly pictures in my mind.... Think I'll stick with my flow gauges.... Didn't they used to put a sticker on the rear bumper that stated that pulling more than 80 lbs would damage the hydralics ?? Posted via Mobile Device |

Nope, Not at all Slapper..... The junk Iron Eagle is good for 500 lbs and the commercial units such as Classics are good for 2K lbs. What I meant is field testing new units, My boss attended a dealer's get together at the factory in Coatesville and met Art Evens. He took plenty pics to show me, They chained the back of a Classic to a BIG forklift in the warehouse with the rear wheels off the floor. They had a remote kill switch hooked up then rev it wide open and tied the joysticks FULL forward then drop it to the floor, They let it sit there and burn the tires off, Didn't kill it until the rims started digging into the concrete floor. I pull 1200 + lb Polaris UTV's around our lime rock parking lot all the time with our demo Classic with no problem.....

To answer the OP I feel heat breakdown of the oils contributes to early failure. I run full synthetic Mobil 20w50 in all the machines. Posted via Mobile Device |
