Why are Scag/Exmark/Ferris considered better

Why are Scag/Exmark/Ferris considered better

than

Commercial Cub Cadets, Hustlers etc?

How would you class brands?

I understand there will be brand loyalty, wish a poll could be created.

There is no best mower as there are different kinds made to fit different needs and good quality mowers.

For example for my area the best ztr is the Walker Mower as being in a suburb of NYC there is a lot of medium sized lawns that need to be bagged. Scag is also one of the best mowers you will find in terms of ztrs and walk behinds. They have very solid decks and good quality components.

In my opinion Exmark is not great quality, when im not out cutting im a mechanic at my local outdoor power dealer. They are a lot like the toros which are nothing special.

Never buy any so called "Craftsman Pro" or "Cub Cadet Commercial". They are not commercial.

Hustler does make commercial units that are very nice and durable.

I cut about 25 lots in Southern Indiana ranging from 1/3 acre to a full acre.
Just started this year. Have a Husqvarna 54inch 24hp Kohler but it does not seem to cut right consistently.

Three sets, stock, hi lift, mulching. Not overly impressed.

So NO commercial grade Cubs?

Hustlers are everywhere here.

I don't like mower wars they all do their thing. But I did demo a Ferris 3100 and was amazed at how fast you could cut on a less than perfect lawn. We all ran it for a yard each and I think I might be heading for a unit like this. Cut was good and ride was nice and no bouncing. I don't spend much time on the mowers unless it is raining, but if my guys are happy production will go up. Demo everything you can, I did and think I have made a decision.

I personally think all commercial grade mowers are relatively the same...I have toro, wright, and ferris and all leave a nice cut. I've seen hustlers leave a nice cut too...sharp blades and your good to go.

scags are considered the best, due to durability, reliability, and cut quality....my buddy has an 04 turf tiger with 3000hrs with 27hp kohler and he just replaced the motor, at 2900hrs, it only needed a top end but he decided to just put a whole motor in it, because the price difference was only 1,000 and for him cutting 70 lawns a week he didn't care about spending the extra money, he just wanted his machine back, and he bought it new and its been his only machine, and its needed very little for parts, still has the original spindles and hydro pumps and that machine never gets greased...still cuts great too. that is why scag is the best. very rugged machines from the factory. i had my 05 tiger since new just sold i with 985hrs and it gave me zero issues, started everyday, and cut great all day long, only thing it needed were cutter deck belts every 2 seasons, and a 1 drive belt in 985hrs, also the pto switch needed to be replaced, but that's pretty good if you ask me. out of the 28000 its grossed me every year, needing a few hundred in maintenance a year isn't that bad. not too mention when i traded it in to the dealer they gave me 3950! and it only cost me 6300 brand new!

ok my take;

before my theft i had a scag 48" freedom z with gator blades and it did a great cut.

now after theft i have 2 used wb mowers a 1984 36" toro with gators, it gives a good cut and will handle tall grass.

the 2nd mower is a 48" 1987 deere with high lifts and gives a good cut if grass is not above 6" if it is the mower blades slow down and bogs and stops.

my take is scsg and toro are good machines depending upon what u plan to use them for
