You might oughta of just bought a complete unit. The blower is $500. The GHS box is like $1000. Gearboxes, belts, idler pulleys, deck, wiring harnesses, oh yea, an engine... At least you got a heck of a deal on a couple hydros. Oh wait they have 1700 hrs on them... Yep... you might oughta just buy a complete unit. And honestly, I've found with Walkers anyway, if someones selling it, there is a reason. Next one I buy is gonna be new and under warranty.

A deck will run you $2000. You may get $25 of your $100 back at a scrap yard.

The guys are right, you PAID someone to haul their garbage away but if it makes you feel any better I had to learn this lesson the same way you just did.
Used parts rarely sell for the main reason that it isn't worth putting forth the effort to fix something just to throw a part at it that may or may not make it far. A few exceptions do exist, the fuel tank is one part that can and will be sold (and bought) used, but the exceptions are few. You can buy used parts but are you sure you want to? Who wants to spend an afternoon replacing an engine that might not make it through the week without having more trouble? Most people I know will only spend the time it takes to fix it if they know it's going to be done right. Otherwise, why bother? That having been said you might get a chinese clone engine for it, but they're generally only used for machines that see occasional use (and by occasional I mean maybe an hour or two of running per month, or so). Otherwise you're looking at a LOT of money to fix it up right, I think someone mentioned two thousand dollars, that's probably a good starting ballpark figure. |
