Thoughts on North GA Pre m for winter annuals

I am thinking of applying my first pre-m mid september this year. It will be liquid out of a skid sprayer. Most of the other companies I know of in Atlanta don't put down pre-m till mid October but I am pretty sure Poa is better prevented if put down in mid Sept. Am I correct on this or am I way off?

If you are talking about poa annua specifically, then yes, putting down a pre in mid September will interrupt a LOT of of initial poa germination.

Temperature for Poa germination is between 65-75 degrees, not ground temp, which is usually between Sept Oct. This is my first year having my chemicals license, and remember it saying for complete protection, there should be 2 apps of pre- emergent, Sept Nov.
