27 kohler loses power here and there

O searched around a bit and dis some quick test mentioned...
It runs fine full power then after a while it loses power when blades engage. Disengage still runs ... Then it almost sounds pike somethimg opens up and it runs full throttle. Wen running I took off spratlrk plug coil on each side. When i did the left side it died. Put it back on it ran. This happens every once in a while durin te day the past two or three days. It loses a bit of oil during the week... Chamged plugs the other day. They were do. And were blackend... Beat up looking. They were very due though... Just looking for some suggetions before i have to bring it to the shop.

Sounds like the right side coil is failing. Failing coils usually start as intermittent misfires when hot and gradually get worse.

I took a look yesterday and one of the smaller wires was eaten up pretty bad. I taped it up but after 4 or so lawns its acting up again. Warmed up like you said. But when its going its fine. I guess I will replace the coils

I think this lead to another thread about the cover rubbing upon reinstallation.

alright..sorry I have not been back to write some more..buddies wedding this weekend..the coil packs solved the problem..the once lower side of the coil pack was rubbing a bit..so we adjusted them and its all good...thennn...it would start..it would just click..then nothing...took off the starter to get it tested..and while we were taking it off..took off the back end of the starter and everything popped out..(last time I took a starter off was a boat I had and the way we took it off was by those two back bolts)..oh well..the guys at the shop said the bushings were bad anyways..so I got another starter..and a battery...started perfect for half the day..then nothing..so I ran a jumper from the positive to the starter and jumped it that way..started right up..Friday it ran all day fine..but the safety under the seat was acting up the past week or so..we pushed everyone up to Thursday and I dropped it off at the end of the day to the shop since I had the wedding on Friday...the guy just told me to switch the switch out but lack of time and I wanted to make sure it was good to go for Monday...so fixed one thing a a couple other things went along..maybe it was time for them to go..cheers
