It's going to be tough to get an answer. You will get about the same amount of responses for each brand saying thiers is the best. I would get on the phone and call dealers. Demo as many as you can. Some dealer don't do demos and I cross them off my list. Pick one that's comfortable for you, works well on your properties and cuts them great.

I'm sure this is not the answer you are looking for, but if you can't decide on a mower on your own, how will you run a biz on your own? Come up with a biz plan? Stuff along those lines.

I'm so in love with my Run-Behind that I picked up this year. Too bad Dixie Chopper doesn't make it anymore.

Yes, it's not a true stander, but like the toro, you have the versatility to walk behind it if need be.

15 yrs old and running your own business...that's good stuff!

To answer your question, you will probably get a lot of different answers because people tend to be brand loyal. From my personal experience, the Scag V Ride is a good stander with a very good cutting deck (velocity deck) in many conditions. From reading on here, you will find out there are a lot of good standers out there. You really have to pick what fits your budget and your properties. As mentioned before, try to demo some on your properties to see how they perform exactly as you would be using them.

Hope this helps and good luck to you!

I just bought a John Deere Quik-trak 657 and really enjoy mowing with it.
The 7iron pro deck cuts excellent just like my other J.D. mowers.
It uses less gas then my z's, comfortable to ride, only complaint is it's not very good on side hills - unless you mow straight up and down.

Stand-on, sit-down, walk-behind, at the end of the day they are all machines that transport a grass cutting deck. Forget about the nuances of each Stand-on machine, and concentrate on the results. Depending on conditions, there are a couple of decks that consistently produce excellent cut quality. The Scag Velocity Plus and the eXmark Ultra Cut. So for me, that would narrow it down to 2. The Scag tends to be a more productive deck with the ability to chew through large volumes of grass. The Ultra Cut sacrifices some productivity for that crisp manicured cut.

One more thing to consider...

There are certain efficiencies to be gained if you can standardize your equipment on a single brand. One dealer, shared parts, etc.

Ive owned a few different brands of Stand ons and currently have 5 Wright Standers. They are the quickest and handle the best on hills. They have the patent on their smaller foot print which is the key to their success.
