Opinions??
I am leaving for college at the end of this month and I have 2 different LCO's set up to mow the final few cuts (bi-weekly lawns). How should I handle telling the customers that I will not be the one mowing? The main thing I am concerned about is how billing will work. Typically I leave a card letting them know how many cuts they owe for and the total amount owed. I do not want to have the people working for me do that, since that is not a workers job, it is the business owner's. Obviously this situation isn't ideal, but I value a degree in business to be very key to my business's success post college.
Any suggestions are welcomed!

Just tell them the truth, that you are off to college and ask as to the best method to send them their invoice. Good choice, college that is, best of luck.

Honesty is best always. It will show your customers you have integrity. They should all understand however in the future I would address this issue upfront before you do the first cut. Some people don't like surprises and the only other thing is hopefully you have subcontracted to reputable people as they are representing your business. If you would feel good about these companies mowing your grandmas lawn then you probably picked the right guys. Otherwise you may lose a few customers next year.
Your main concern is how billling will work. You have to find out how many times the other companies cut and send an invoice to the customer. They pay you. You have to make an arrangement with the replacement mowers and then you forward whatever amount you agreed to. It cna be done many ways but first up you owe it to the customers to tell them whats up.
