Insurance prices

I am in the same boat as a few of you guys. I just started out this year and I don't have insurance. Since I am looking at this thing to take off and hopfully make a living for a little while whiling doind this I now am looking into getting insurance. What kind of pricing would I be looking at for for a basic policy, no empylees, and I am looking at a trcuk that has a snow plow. What are you guys paying who are in a similar position?

A policy basically for liability only with little or no protection for your equipment will probably run in the $400 to $600 range annually. As for the coverage for plowing, I don't have a clue, except to tell you that the premium for commercial insurance on my truck is a bit under $100 per month.

I have State Farm. 1 mill liability plus up to $20,000 guaranteed replacement on my equipment is $58 a month. My truck and trailer are commercial liability and the payment is lumped in with my Mustang and my wife's Chevy Cobalt. It's $54 a month for all 3.

About the same where as Mr Martin. I do not do snow, it would cost about $1200 for the snow season. We just don't have that much snow around here. The competition for snow work is as bad as mowing if not worse.

I pay under $600 a year for a 1m-2m policy. Truck, trailer and equipment are under $800 a year. Dig deep because NJ is a state that has tons of little laws. You might even have to carry WC on yourself to own operate a business. Better check into all that too.

THanks guys. And I know< NJ is terrible when it comes to the fine print laws. Thats another reason why insurance here is a must. But thanks for the input

i pay 800 a year for 2 mil with no workers. if you want to get state farm, you have to have 3 previous years of insurance. i have statefarm for everything and they still wouldnt insure me. i have one more year and i can get the statefarm rate . and i pay 100 a year for 5000 dollars worth of equipment :/ . that wont even cover one mower lol. I got that when i first started out and 5000 was a lot lol. now that wont cover one mower. i go through one of allstates underwriters and wells fargo.
