Exmark Lazer 72 w/ 34 Kawi Problems

We have 3 2010 Exmark Lazer Zs running 72'' decks and 34 Kawaski's. Low hours on them - 1100, 950, and 850. All three have had the engines replaced completely under warranty - do not know why exactly - we bought these after they were replaced. Now one of the engines is fouling a plug on the rear cylinder weekly - is anyone else having problems with these engines?

Thanks.

Sounds like it is time to do a leak down and compression test. I haven't run that engine myself but I have to say that I have been unimpressed with the kawi's we have owned over the years. Not a single one has ever went its life without giving us some kinds of problems or blowing up.

There was a factory recall on these engines. They had head and valve train problems that Kawi took care of under warranty, and also redesigned to eliminate the problem with approx. mid 2011 and later models. It involved the two BB engines that were then rated at 34 and 37 HP (now 31 and 35 HP).

Unlike PSC, I love Kawi's. I've never had a bad one yet, and I've owned a bunch of different ones over the years. I have a 22 1/2 year old 14 HP Kawi that still runs strong, and it's been used a TON over the years. Doesn't leak, and doesn't burn oil. Can't say that about Kohlers though. I grew up on Kohlers, but I don't care nearly so much for them anymore.
