srm 251e bogging down, help!

ive had my echo 251e for several years and never had an issue. this season i have noticed that when i get on the throttle it runs fine till the string hits anything and then it bogs down. its also drinking gas. i replaced the plug, the fuel filter and the air filter. still does it. can you clean the carb on this pretty easy? any suggestions would be great.

If ya know what your doin', cleaning the carb is easy, you should get a rebuild kit and search you tube.
But I would make sure the choke is staying completely open, and also pull the muffler and clean the cyl. exh. port of built up carbon. Pull the plug and blow compressed air in the plug hole while you scrape the carbon. Keeps the debris from getting in the cyl.
You might wanna clean/ check the spark screen, they clog also.

I'd say that's a good thing! Now you gotta get the newer one to run as well.

If you get some gas in the echo it will fire up the same way. You took the limiters off the needles?

Ed2hess. When u say limiters do u mean the red and white turn knobs? No they still on there. I almosy took them off tonight... Oh and tonight i took carb off and broke it down. It all looks good. Gaskets are good. Readjusted throttle cable and started it. Ran the same. Still bogging on the top...checked all fuel lines. Clear. Only thing i havent pulled isbthe fuel vent. Thats tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated

Have you done everything BigFish suggested? I'd start with cleaning the spark arrestor screen (it's in the muffler) and exhaust port and installing a new plug. If you've never cleaned the spark arrestor screen and it hasn't been removed, after several years of use it is almost certain to be at least partially clogged, which will limit it's ability to breathe at high rpm.
