How often to sharpen blades

I was wanting to know from some of you guys. How often do you sharpen your blades?

We sharpen daily. We use a magnate-magic blade sharper

I do every couple of days. I need to find a blade that will not gum up the deck as bad. I run regular High lift and also have some gators.

A lot depends on the geographical location you are in and the type(s) of grass you are cutting. Also on how much cutting time per day you put on your blades, and the condition of the turf you cut.

once a year...Get quality blades!



No... only kidding maybe twice a week...
When i was a little rook(ie) I sharpened them daily at lunch... now its like, for a residential cut...Customers dont care! My commercial stuff is almost the same way... we do those blades 3 times a week. Cut loojs just as good as everyone else's........Oh yeah, i dont balance my blades or any of that...Biggest waste of a Grand..Just my .02

Every 6-8 hours in spring time. Every day otherwise its worth the cut that you get to change it often.

wow, i had no idea blades should be sharpened as often as you guys do it...

being new to the business i am so grateful i found this site. i am learning something new everyday...

an extra set of blades and mower jack just went on my to-get list...
