I wouldn't switch from an EB802 just to get a Stihl BP unless I had had a ton of bad experience with the 802. The 802 is just a great blower. I like the Stihl trimmers just fine, but they don't feather up and down well at all throttle wise. It's either on, or off, but a ton of torque that is nice. I don't have any trouble with my BR600M's throttle for whatever reason though. It's smooth as silk, and comes on strong right from the very bottom, and runs strong right on through to the top. I just prefer a 2 stroke unless I'm in an area where noise is a concern, then the Stihl wins there, as it does on fuel usage.
To be honest, I will be swictching to all Husqvarva as my other handhelds wear out. Their BP's are the best BP's on the market right now IMO, and I love my Husky trimmer too. |

I have a OLD EB802 and a little over 1 year old stihl BR600mag. The 600 mag dropped a valve last week, need i say more? The 600 mag was the same one that stihl would not cover under warranty because I set it on the dealer's floor wrong when I took it in!!!

We have used both Shindy in the past and now all we use is Stihl. Happy we made the switch and would not go back to Shindy.
Some of our tools, BR600 and FC110 are several years old now and still going strong.

Set it on the dealer's floor wrong? What does this mean exactly?

Took it in for a broken throttle cable, when I set the blower on the floor the cable was twisted. They wouldn't cover it, i was out 40.00 plus my time trying to work on it...the stihls are difficult to take apart compared to most brands.

Over the years I have owned both. I started out with mostly Stihl, but as the years went by I realized the Shindaiwa tools lasted longer and were more reliable. I use Shindaiwa now even though they have no dealer close to me. It seems like there is a Stihl dealer on every corner. I order a lot of Shindaiwas over the internet, but never have issues with them so dealer support has not been an issue.

Well its like this Shindawia blower I have is over 10 years old and has never been worked on, it has had heave use.
My 4 year old Sthil Kombi Died today, never started good, unfortanuately sthil is the only game in our aera so between all the kombi attachments I have I really had no choice but to buy another kombi power unit. I will say I dont know if Shindawia 4-stroke stuff is any good or not.. |
