seasonal clean up do you send letter?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has sent out a Fall clean up letter?
Also I am thinking about getting a dethatcher for spring clean ups To make it faster and would like to know do you notify you customers you will use one rather than raking by hand- i am a small buiness not large. Some customers liked that it was done by hand. Should i ask for customer input in the fall letter to see what they think and to help me decide to purchase one or not?

Any opinions, suggestions, would be great.
