Specialized tool required?
Anyone ever have to re-lamp one of these? Not sure how to get it in there...
Closed top. Access from the bottom only. Thinking of needle nose pliers with some short pieces of neoprene tubing (on hand) or taped up. ![]() This other version has access from the top, so I can get two index fingers in there from both directions. The cut off angles also make it easier. ![]() What other specialized tools have you come up with for relamping or other maintenance?

We have "relamping pliers". They are plastic needle nose pliers with rubber tips that grip the lamp
Is that what your looking for? Posted via Mobile Device |

We use these to back out sockets from broken medium base bulbs. But your first post is the pliers we have. I dont think I have used a pair in a long time but my service tech seems to like them. I just wear latex gloves when relamping bipins. And btw we bought about 10 pairs 5 years ago at Harbor freight..... Maybe 3 bucks a pair |

I agree: latex medical gloves for me for re-lamping.

I can never find latex gloves that are big enough. They always rip too.

I've always done those with my fingers, but it's a big pain. Wedge base lamp so it pulls straight out. Those spark plug pliers look awesome. I'm gonna get me some of those for when my fingers get too fat to get in there!
