Fix up or run into the ground?

I have a 17hp tthp - Turf-tracer. 1700hrs. Other then ruotine maintenance I'Ve spent a total of $325. on repairs. But! It needs 4 tires, muffler, some front wheel bearings and for me to feel right should have all 3 spindle assys. replaced. Don't know how long the pumps will last. A shop would do the work. Would you put more money into the mower than you could sell it for ?

Phone a friend. Someone that is a good mechanic that could easily service or replace the necessary parts. Pay him some beer money to do the work. Hang out and watch then you might be able to service it yourself next time. Just a thought. It would save you from paying as much going to a dealer.

I'm confused. Do you just do the driving then? Who is going to cut the grass if your days of doing work are over? If you owned a station then you should be able to fix it yourself. Maybe we just don't know your circumstances.

I have a Z and the turf tracer with sit down sulky. I'am solo so I choose the work I want to do, including mechanical.

Do what you will. I see a half day of messing around with a mower. Maybe you are busy enough that you don't have the time?

Replacing an entire spindle assembly would be such a waste of money, unless the casing is cracked...
Especially since just one such assembly will run you over $100.

I would fix it and use it> If you are the original owner; then you know the conditions the machine operated under so you can rule abuse out. IDK really.

Now, if you just want a new mower then justification ends up being a double edged sword.
