Very disappointed

I recently bought a Scag SFW 36, and told my dealer to get a mulch plate for it, two weeks later, it finally arrives. I get home from school, to put it on and its the wrong plate. I could not believe it, the guy who which my dealer orders from said to him that it will fit the mower, it was not even close! Besides that I got gator blades on it at least. It is a great mower just wish I had a mulch plate so grass would not be blowing every where. Love the machine, amazing mower.

Simply cut a piece of plywood and bolt it on until you get the other one.

You are not going to like just the mulch plate trust me. I did the samething when I got my mowers. Only took one yard to relize that it wasn't going to work. Just spend the money on the mulch kit if you want to mulch or not blow grass everywhere. I tried it first on a 48 vride never even tried it on the 36 sfw because of the results on the vride. So I spent 160 dollars on something I might only use in the fall. And yes I had gators on.

A agree...a $20 plate doesn't replace a $200 mulch kit with baffles. You will have a row of clippings on discharge side of mower with plate...gators or not.

If I were you I would try a OCDC and mount the switch on the handle. That SFW will make a man out of ya. Everything here is on a hill and that thing will wear you out quick. I don't think you will have the hill problem in TX but that thing is a tank. I was a little unsure of the vanguard but it is a very good motor.

Live and learn and honestly it was my very first yard ever and I was like dam this lady is gonna be pissed. She could have cared less and the neighbor game over and wanted me to mow his too I said not after that job. Still mowing both minus the block off plate.

Gator blades are not the correct blade if you plan on using a mulch kit with baffles.
