Seed in Dead Grass Cover

Nice pictures Riggle, keep patiently photographing and we'll see how it turns out in the long run... We may lose CG entirely tonight already @ the predicted 34 degrees under clear skies...

I was down to my spot before the rains came and there continues to be progress on the bare spots, but my dead grass spots are coming back from the roots and even so there are visible seed germination blades coming forth, but few and far between... if the roots are coming back to life there isn't likely to be germination there at all...
I'll have to get down there with glasses on and the zoom camera again for a closer look...

hmmmm - I've been seeding at a little over the recommended rate this year; maybe I'll go a little heavier.

I wonder how those really thick stands will hold up over time?

I've seen some pretty thick lawns of KBG mixes and they don't choke each other out as far as I can see...

There's still more seed poking through everday and the last rain we got helps alot, even though we're cooling down quickly now... hope to get some specific areas that are germinating photographed soon...

I think Riggle has already made the point though...

I tested another area on a vacant lot that had mostly crabgrass. Square areas marked with plastic spoons as stakes. Double seed, 5 times seed and double with aeration.
HOWEVER...area turned out was near a school bus stop. Kids kept kicking out my stakes. Darn.
However some seed is coming up in spite of very light rains. Stay tuned.
