What are you supposed to do with excess herbicide liquid? Proper disposal?
I'm just curious as to how people get rid of extra herbicide the correct way?

Only mix what you need in the beginning and you have little waste. You should spray it or remix it.

Ok, what if you can't?
I've got a place to take all my chems, even the rinsate so it's no issue for me. Even if it's got a cleaning solution or Amonia in it, so ultimately I'm lucky. I'm just playing devils advocate here as there isn't too many places to take such waste water or chems. ...
