how much work do you turn down?

Im talking to the fulltime guys with a fee employees. Do you start turning down work after your Fridays are full? I refuse to work weekend anymore.

We only turn down work if they are trash yards. If they are nice weekly yards we take.

I got way too much drive to turn down work. When it comes in we put someone on it. Book them, bill them and go. Its OK for some to level off their business. Growing a thriving business can be challenging to some. Lots of responsibility but great reward.

I'm changing my game plan slightly. I'm getting rid of stuff far away, even those that are regular, and replacing them with a mix of regular and on-call customers close to home. If i'm the only one doing the yard, i can get it into shape, even if they go past the desired time to cut. But, there are those who let it get so bad, that i'm not interested. I'll take on these people, and keep track of how long they wait between cuts. If it's too long, i let them go. So far it's really working. The travel time was hurting me, but i took those far way accounts in the beginning. So, the short answer is that i take just about everything (90%) that is close, and give them a trial period.

We work 4 days a week so I will pretty much take the work. If I fill up Friday then I will ride it out until spring then add another guy.... start over.
