Scheduling

How do guys do your scheduling for apps. I haven't found a real good way to schedule when someone may get 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 apps. Are you using a software program?

What do you when 2 houses next door are on a 5 step and 6 step. Just skip on one step for the 5 step or space it out differently and go back at different times.

Any other tips would be appreciated on how to simplify the scheduling so I am not constantly trying to see who is a 4 of 5 or 6 and see who is due this round.

Skip one ap, if they don't get all aps. Add an extra ap in late fall for those premium accounts that want a winterizer.
You are correct--try to avoid special trips--or charge a bit extra for them. Say a dollar a minute for your time, (not to mention gas and mileage wear and tear. )

I always used big customer cards. Placed in order by the planned route. Skip that customer if he didn't get round four, but keep his card in order so he comes up at the proper date with other customers on that street for the next round. Of course, it is possible to forget and do the unscheduled round four accidentally. Your memory will improve after doing a few aps for free.

Scheduling

I keep customer sheets with records. Once a month I go over every one and put them in order for the next app. If no ap is needed the sheet stays in the binder. After app is done I bill mark app billed and put it back in binder. The I lather rise and repeat.

Are you guys on board with riggleplc with skipping an app for those on 5 that live next to a 6.

I typically try have the 3 and 4 app customers front heavy. Meaning, if they are getting 4 steps we will do the first 3 apps and then one around aug/sept. I feel like if they get to spread out in the spring time they are more susceptible to weeds.

I think you are on the right track, BLC. I retired, but I did my billing with a database program. I used the yellow copies of my invoice to post the charges each night.
Be sure everyone gets an October treatment--because--a good fall treatment means no dandelions in the spring.

Service Autopilot....schedule them all and let the computer do the work instead of trying to remember it all or write it down....so much easier this way!! You can "skip" treatments if they aren't getting that one.
