Someone posted this to Hunter's Facebook page today in a contest showing photos of "where are you working" to win a Hunter backpack.
So, my question is, is there anywhere that allows a below grade installation like this?

Sure, if they have no regulations. That looks like an RP below grade and what the hell is on the outlet of those valves? Swing pipe fittings?

If it's an RP, no. If it's a double check, yes. Tough to tell from the top.

It's a Febco 825Y RPZ
I have seen some codes that have a 'footnote' for RPZ installs below grade with the proviso that the install location is not in a flood plain, and can drain any relief valve outflow. |

You're right, the Febco DCVs don't have the front plate and relief valve.

It looks like that brass 90 coming out of the ground is a shark bite fitting.

we dug up this mess today. the pipes were off by at least an inch or two up and down. I don't know how the slip fix didn't leak. they installed an rpz up stream from this so we pulled it out and added a valve so they can shut down the system without going in the hot box.

Those aren't DWV fittings are they?

No, they are pressure rated sweeps.
