help fall bidding and edgit pro?

this is my first year as a business owner, iam really looking for fall services you guys offer and how you bid them Iam from the Midwest. also wondering if anyone has had any experience with the edgit trimmer head? thanks.

I have been using edgit pro sense 2004 and I like it. On fall clean they are very hard to bid. If you rake the yard or blow the leaves . Then you have to remove the leaves so be very careful when bidding. I live in central Illinois and here we have to pay to dump the leaves. I have a 2008 chevy 2500 with a dump insert with a billy goat leaf vac which makes the job a lot easier.

I may have to try that edgit out it looks pretty slick. were iam at there is no dump fee. for your cleanups what are they like? iam offering mulch the leaves weekly or blow and bag the lawn.

It is according on how big the yard is and how many trees, when the leaves come down all at once mowing and bagging for me does not work. I rake the leave in pile, put them on tarp, drag where my truck and use my leaf vac .

You say "or" in the post.
I usually do both and the customer knows this up front. I'll mulch them up until they become over baring. I charge more to mulch them then a regular cut, after that I bag. This is on a place that dumps leaves like crazy. After the forth or fifth week I'm having to start bagging. At that point it becomes a full on clean up and I'll be doing it every other week for about 2 months or until it snows and I can't do anymore. On properties that don't have 60+ trees, I just mulch the leaves and charge a little extra depending on how bad the leaves are. In the case of being only one or two small trees I just mulch them at no extra charge.

The Edgit.....

I have to say, it's one of the best investments I've made. It makes things much easier. The ONLY downside I found after 5 years of use is that you can't get into a 90 degree corner if there's grass there due to the larger round disk. The remedy is to reach down and pluck it out of the way. LOL Outside of that, there's nothing else I'd rather use. I know others will start cussing when I say this and think a stick edger is better (and it is for the right situation) but once a edge is cut with a stick edger, the Edgit and a nice light weight trimmer can not be beat on a weekly trim. I can use the trimmer in both directions and get a clean crisp edge. It seems my walk behind and my stick edgers always leave a few blades behind where the Edgit doesn't. It saves time not having to go back and forth to the trailer to swap equipment since you can edge and trim with the same tool.

I'm not affiliated with them in anyway but as much as I've pimped their product, it'd be nice to get a new unit for my Echo 210.

I have been using the Edgit for years and wouln't be without it. I do modify mine however.

Cleanups take way more work/time than just mowing. It is very easy to quote a price and screw yourself, be careful.

The only thing I can think of would be to cut the disk down smaller?

I have used edgit for a long, long time. They increase efficiency, speed and eliminate the need for a dedicated edger. Edge the beds, trim, edge paved and stone drives in one shot.

Big fan of the edgit...almost never see them however, which is fine by me, becase that means the other guys are working harder.....

its really that good huh? no one uses it in my area almost everyone just uses string to edge unless its real bad then might use the edger. the edgit is just basically a piece of plastic around the string and you put it between the sidewalk and grass correct? why not just use string and save $60 on a piece of plastic.
