Rookie mistakes

I had the enging rattling on my snapper 21 so I took the air cleaner off and set it on the trunk lid of my car....then I saw a couple of brackets borken took them off jumped in the car to go get them welded, came back put everything back togeather, but the air cleaner, who knows where that thing ended up. The enging is obselete so I had on heck of a time getting the air cleaner cover , filter and wing nut. That was a 60$ mistake.

Man can I beat all of you guys by a long shot. On tuesday I notched out the wrong tree in a high end lawn. White pine, nice tree too. The dead one was right next to it. I screwed the notch back into the tree. We'll see how it goes...

Try driving down the road pulling a trailer when someone pulls up bedside you and points to your trailer and you give them what you think is an appropriate finger salute....only to discover your trailer door is open....

Started loading up the trailer on Monday morning couldn't find the Honda 21". Damn someone stole my mower. Call the cops, they come about an hour later do their thing. I head to the dealer, buy a new mower and off to start my route. Friday, last lawn of the day I go out back and start weed wacking and low and behold my 21" I couldn't find is sitting behind a couple of trees where it was left last week.

I'm not mad about buying a new one. Wanted one anyway. Just kick my self in the ass for not checking when we left the property on Friday. My helper thought I loaded it and I thought he loaded it. What do you say. Never noticed when we unloaded on Friday evening. At least I still have the mower.

Closest mistake I've done like that was when I accidentally sprayed half a customer's lawn with Quikpro (roundup). I was spraying weeds while walking backwards, and I thought I was in a spot that was suppose to be all dirt. Eventually I noticed what appeared to be Bermuda, looked behind me, and realized I was spraying the lawn.

Left my wife mowing 1 account while I drove to the next block over to cut 4. In a rush I left my brand new Quick 36 on the curbside of the street. While my wife was mowing the back yard, 2 men pulled up and where attempting to lift the mower into their truck. My customer who was on his porch, yelled that the mower belonged to his lawn service. Needless to say, he got his lawn mowed for free that day. Boy did I feel stupid.
