Replace the kill switch with a monemtary push switch. You press the button to kill the engine and then it goes back to the run position.

Man can I beat all of you guys by a long shot. On tuesday I notched out the wrong tree in a high end lawn. White pine, nice tree too. The dead one was right next to it. I screwed the notch back into the tree. We'll see how it goes...

With honesty. Told them exactly what happened, and ended up doing some work for free. At least it wasn't the main part of the yard that got sprayed. It was a small section between the driveway and fence line.

The customer respected the fact you owned the mistake and fixed it. How many stories of hacks that just run and put the customers phone number on block.

Yeah, I know what you mean. If anything goes wrong like this, the customer is always the first to be notified (immediately). I couldn't operate like a hack and be okay with that.

I heard a story once where a guy cut the wires to an AC unit while trimming and didn't mention it to the customer. Then was surprised when they called wanting him to pay for it.

If AC wires are low enough and exposed they were probably put in by an unlicensed HVAC guy.
