Help choosing new mower!
Hey guys, Im looking for some help deciding on a new mower. I started off small a few years ago and used a JD z425 and a 36" Toro walk behind, but I guess im waaay outgrowing them. I now have over 25 lawns and its time to upgrade to some bigger commercial equipment. Almost every landscaper I see around town is running either Wright Standers or SuperZ. I want to get a new zero turn first, so lets start there. Theres a local guy that buys commercial mowers, completely rebuilds them, repaints them and resells. He has an 04 54" super z that he would sell me for $3,600. I have absolutely no idead if thats a good price. He doesnt know the correct hours, but it will have a brand new engine. Any suggestions on this deal?
Also, Im not even sure if this is the right mower for me. The things Im looking for in a mower are exceptional bagging (im not sure what type picks up best) and great striping. I only mow 1-2 days a week so I wont be putting a ton of hours on it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Not trying to be a jerk but there are at least 6-7 threads on the first page of this forum reviewing and discussing different mowers, or just search the mower you are interested in, you will have enough to read all winter. Now as far as the guy who rebuilds mowers, I wouldn't be interested in a rebuilt/ repainted POS.

Craigslist or the dealer is the best place for used stuff. Especially Craigslist. First thing to check is the air filter, then the oil. If either are dirty then just get back in your truck and drive home.
