cub tank electrical problem
Have a tank model #53AH8CT6050 WITH THE 30HP Kohler ps-cv750.
It will start and then shut right down as soon as I let off key. As long as I keep key turned in will run, kills power when I let off. It has power to carb, not fuel problem. I have checked safety switches in seat and handles. jumped them with a wire. Have changed ignition switch still same issue. It still will only runs as long as I keep key turned, seems to kill power to coils if I let off. Going back out to play around with it some more, have been looking for a shorted wire. I am stumped, What am I missing? |

Forgot to mention I changed the relay, twice. tried 3 different key switches one brand new.
I realized the carb and coil wire are the same wire. I put a test light on it, there is power at the coils before I turn key. After trying to start the test light will dim out, there is enough power to keep carb solenoid working but not enough juice for the coils. Could the carb solenoid be shorting and drawing too much power, or is it more than likely a short in harness somewhere. I put in a toggle switch for the time being to power coils directly so I can use it but I want it fixed right. |
