Fastest ZTR's Race

You hear a great deal about which company produces the fastest mower, I think this video pretty well answers the question.

Ha Ha. They got a 10 plus year old Dixie Chopper and all the others are relatively new. Guess that's the only way to keep a Dixie down.

No, I'm sorry but that is a 33 hp Generac (no lack of power) on the Dixie, and it is giving the best it has to offer. I've heard a dealer of both Dixie, Bad Boy, and Hustler say they had lined them up and the Super Z always came out on top.

Really that's all there is to speed?? Just HP, How many hours on that 10 year old Generac? So that Dixie runs the same pumps and wheel motors as the new ones?

I'm not saying that Dixies are the faster... actually could care less as that is not my main concern in a mower, but they could have at least put a newer Dixie out there.

That's not a 33 Generac. Generac didn't even make mower engines when that mower was built. It has (at best) a 25 Kohler. That's an old XW series mower with a 10 MPH top speed. It has the little 22 inch tires. I bought one of those brand new in 2001 so I do know what I'm talking about. This video has been posted here at Lawnsite repeatedly.

I'm sorry about saying that was a 33 Generac, that was on another video I was watching when the guy made mention of the engine being a 33 Generac before beginning a race with another mower. We really have no idea of what hp any of the engines on these mowers are, even though it is more about pumps and wheel motors than engines that are within 5 hp.

I would have thought to get an accurate opinion of which mower was the faster of the group, they would have gotten them relatively equal. Dixie has always claimed the title of fastest mower in the world, but what really surprised me was the Cheetah not winning the race when it is listed as a 16 mph machine, the fastest of the group.

The Cheetah may very well be the fastest of the two, then again, it may not be. It may just take longer to get to top speed. That video has been posted on LS more times than just about any other video. For some reason this past summer it was posted for a few weeks there, at least 20 or more times. The race doesn't tell much except that the SZ got to speed faster in a short distance. They need to get them out on some flat pavement somewhere and run the crap out of them over a hundred yards or so and then back, and see which one finishes first.

Yes Dixie chopper is the fastest mower
Why you think they put it on there mowers because they built a one with jet turbine engine That realy mows grass
In the 90s there wasnt a mower would run as fast as a Chopper Now there is mowers has lots speed but they ride a lot rougher One my DC GPS at 18mph it has a smooth ride but with the speed its hard mow straight lines. The control are more touchy at high speed Trust me I been on my son's A$$ to slow down
