I have an Exmark walkbehind and a Ferris ZTR....The cut on the Exmark is phenomenal and the ride on the Ferris can't be beaten....The Ferris is built extremely heavy and cuts really good, but the Exmark cuts better and its built very well also. I just posted some pictures on my exmark cut. Ferris dealer is about 2 mi away and Exmark is about 35 mi.

I went from scag to crapsMark about 5 years ago to save money. I hate my crapsMark mowers. My dealer is a con. CrapsMarks break all the time for us. I never had a problem with my Scags. Customer support here is terrible where I bought my mowers. I do wish Scag striped better. I bought both the(2) old crapsmark and the (1)new redesigned efi one. Both crap.I will not buy one more X, Frustrated!

I had a 97' lazer z that would cut circles around the new exmarks.

maybe you deal with the same salesman I do. I'm in Fort Wayne as well.

I love my toros and exmarks and the parts department has one excellent person out of the bunch but my sales rep could use a kick in the butt sometimes.

had deere, kubota, toro, and now running all exmarks. I have tried scag but too far to travel.

I've looked at Scag just for fun, and every time I do, I get an outta this world price. Yes I agree that they are built very well, to last, but at the same time, I have never had any major or even minor things go wrong with my Exmark or Ferris. They are both built solid. My Ferris without 13 gallons of fuel weighs 1250lbs. My 48" Exmark weighs almost 750lbs both with heavy gauge decks. I've seen and heard that scags don't stripe as well as Exmark and other brands tho. But I do see a few out there, just not around where I live.

Price is why I went from scag as well. I loved the TT 62 I had cost over 10 g in 2002 . Never had one problem. My xmarks on the other had nothing but problems. I like the price but not the head ach . Maybe some day I will tell my story about my costumer service from mutton.

I've never had any troubles with my exmarks.

but the sales guy I deal with isn't always the best, at least with me. I emailed him over a month ago about a price on a navigator and haven't heard a word.

when the original guy I started with switched stores I got him and it took me buying a mower from him before he would actually take me seriously.

but like I said there is this one chick in the parts department who know her stuff and knows how to help customers. once I ordered a discharge chute. came in wrong one. guy I delt with re ordered. came in wrong again. diff guy wanted to re order again. she called exmark while I was there to find out what was going on. problem fixed got my correct chute a couple days later.
