Ya if your running gas you could not profit $500. I do a school that's 15 acres and we knock it out in 2.5 hrs with me and another guy. Lots of trimming too.

What kind of equipment are you and the "guy" knocking out the 15 acres with lots of trimming with in 2.5 hrs?

I'd like to know your secret.........

It takes me longer than that to bush hog with a tractor and 10 ft cutter on a wide open 15 acre pasture with no trimming....

Um a 60inch mower at 10.5 mph is about 6 acres a hour on the money. Times that by 2.5 is 15 acres on the money. It takes my guy about 1.5 hrs to do the trimming and then gets on the other mower for about a hour and that mow can do about 4.5 acres a hour. So we could potentially mow 19 acres but its chopped up in different section, hills, and obstacles. Not my faul you mow at grandma speeds on your tractor lol The one is a 26hp diesel kubora ztr and the other is a 21hp diesel grasshopper. We use oh about a total of 4 gallons of diesel there so I can mow it for about $11 in diesel

Wow that's amazing. My Scag's with 61" deck 35hp VG will cut 5 acres per hour if your really pushing it on slow growth on a weekly wide open account. I guess the secret I'm missing is I don't have a diesel. I'll have to put a Bota and Hopper diesel on the list to demo next year.

I also wished diesel was $2.75 gal here in TX as well. It was $3.74 per when I filled up the truck yesterday.

I mow this triangle shaped property with myself and two guys. One 60" mid mount and one 48" Walker.
According to the tax office its a 17 acre property.
Takes between 6 and 7 hours to trim, mow and blow with these three guys.
And yeah I budget more than 800 some thing per mowing on my bid.

28 ACRES for 800 some thing??????????????????????

Sorry my bad, $13.20. Off road diesel has been about $3.40 and you could mow more than 5 a hour, even so you prove my point.

Also very very very few properties can be mowed wide open all the time every time.

Me and the guys mowed a couple truck stops this summer.
Hideous landscaping, some of it still "natural".

Rough is a strong understatement. Were it even a little bit smoother we could have cut quite a bit of time off of the amount of time needed to mow it.
