If your getting a 24 amp draw, I don't think adjusting will help, But you don't have nothing to lose buy trying. The clutch is likely history and that caused the burnt stator connector......

I agree...If the adjustable clutch were slipping ...it could probably draw up to 8 to 10 amps.
Make sure the clutch wiring isn't damaged...melted or bare spots..Go ahead and adjust it... You never know....

Got my new clutch installed this evening. Everything is back to normal, and the battery is holding 14.8 volts with the PTO engaged! WooHoo....Finally!
