per hour to run equipment

I figured it cost around ten an hour to run my mower minus operator. Does anyone have any idea what it costs an hour to run a stihl 95 trimmer, stihl br 600 an hour minus operator. This includes equipment fuel parts repairs. Thanks

Im following this one too. My boy and I had this discussion yesterday on the ride home after mowing. We made 160 bucks in three hours work together, and he wanted 80. I said it dont work that way...LOL.
First we have gas to pay for, then mileage in the truck round trip, then wear and tear on each piece of equipment, then material cost for trimmer line used, etc, and the list goes on and on.

So im curious to see how othres view this aspect as well.

$1-5 an hour on most small tools. The problem is that there is lots of idle time. Your blower alone chews up $2 in fuel running for an hour.

If I buy a $9,000 mower, run it for 2000 hrs, and sell it for $4000, it costs $2/hr for the mower. Gas is another $4/hr. Maintenance is about $1. So for me it costs $7/hr to run a mower (52" ZTR with collection system purchased new).

Everything changes if you buy used. I bought a mower (like above) with 300 hrs on it for $5K. I'll take it to 2000 hrs, and sell it for $4K. So my cost per hour drops to 58 cents. So that takes me down to $5.58/hr to run a similar machine.

I can't tell you how many hours I run a weedwacker or a blower, so it is tough to put an hourly cost on them. But one backpack, and one trimmer last at least 2 seasons (each season is 35 weeks). They cost about $900. Or $13 per week for 70 weeks worked. Plus gas and maintenance.

A good trimmer should run a thousand hours. .33/hour

A blower about the same.

A trimmer needs line and head parts and a blower uses more gas.

I would guess about a dollar an hour to run either one.

Thanks. I figured about a 1.25 an hour for fuel alone on blower.
