Deck opening mod and fusion blades
I have an 2001 60" Z and am interested in doing the discharge opening mod and changing to Fusion blades. I have searched but not able to find the specific info. I understand that PJ is no longer with Hustler. Can someone please advise?
Thanks in advance, Brad |

I don't know what you plan on doing(specific) and hope to cure. I'm open to ideas.

Wasn't there an angle cut that could be made to the rear of the discharge openning that made these older decks closer to what the decks that were produced right before the XR7 came out? As far as Fusion's, don't know... Do your spindles have saddles? May need a differnet spindle shaft to take care of the offset blades and saddles.

I want a cleaner discharge, getting clumps. Yes I do have the saddle mount spindles.

This is about all I found on Hustlers web site going back far enough to cover a deck similar to yours, but still new enough to have flat blades. This parts manual covers the ATZ, but the blades and spindle shafts you need to go from saddles to flat blades should be in section 8-8 as long as they are the same length of blade as what you have. The spindle shaft is longer to get rid of the saddle.

Brad,
Here is the link to the Service Bulletin on the upgrading of the deck opening. Hope it helps. https://dealer.hustlerturf.com/syste...204%202005.pdf If you can't download send me an email and I'll send the PDF file. hustlermidwest@aol.com Brian O |
