Yes that is true. Dealers only make about a grand on a new vehicle, but could make 3-4k on a used one.

That is why I never buy anything from a dealer. Plus the $500 doc fee, plus local sales tax... hell I can avoid the taxes and the doc fees by buying from an individual.

I have found on small purchases like tvs, it isn't really worth my time to find a deal. So congrats... I approve of your purchase.

True.. same for when I am buying equipment. My time using the equipment instead of looking for one, and spending my off time on others things like family cancel out any possible savings (which savings arent only money like we have talked about here, again I prefer new equipment with less issues)

Well.... Saving 20k on buying used equipment IS worth my time. Sorry my time isn't worth 1k an hour. Maybe yours is! Here is money i haved saved this year over buying new.

Dingo 525 800hrs - saved 16k
Denali xl - saved 25k
04 Chevy 5500 (40k miles) - saved 20k
Scag tt - 210 hrs - saved 3k

And that is just one year!

Sounds like a good deal.

Other than the truck, those are all things I wouldnt use, so I saved $53,000.

Since he obviously does not communicate very well I will explain what his question means. I posted in the heavy equipment forum with problems I have been having with my machine. It apparently has turned into a "ha ha ha look what brand you bought". He obviously is one of those who has a sticker of a Chevy emblem pissing on a ford emblem on this truck.
