Question on Hydro oil change for walk behind mower

I'm looking to buy my first hydro walk behind mower. It's a 2004 Husky and I know hour wise it's around 300-400. I've noticed that when I drive it is a little jumping and will turn really sharp/quick and just isn't very smooth. I'm not sure if it's just me being new to the mower, does it need the hydro oil changed or is this the first sign of a hydro motor going out? I've only owned belt driven mowers to this point so I'm still getting use to hydro. Any thoughts?

When they are cold they tend to do that till the hydro warms up.

It's you!! It was me! I worked on one a couple of weeks ago, and on the test ride, that sucker was jumpy as h-e-l-l ! Took me a while to get semi used to it. The key is to set the ground speed lever ( the one in the middle with the knob) to just barely moving, then gradually bump it up with the palm of your hand. To me, the controls sucked! Glad I only had to work on it, and not use it!
It ain't rocket science! far.

My Toro, Scag or Kubots doesn't do that when cold...buyer beware.

I figured it out. Husqvarna had released a service bulletin on it. There are a couple things out there to fix all is good.
