I think Kawasaki sells a head like this for their trimmers.

Neat concept, would be great where there's Poison Ivy or Sumac, too....keep from hurling it.

I use mine in this situation too. The gearbox has to be lubricated and checked often, because you don't want it to go dry.

I guess this gear box that makes it reciprocate is at the engine end? Might be able to use this for cutting small branches on trees near the ends?

No, its at the blade end. The engine is the same that is on the 3XXX series redmax.

I have an extended reach hedge trimmer that angles and I use it as a sickle cutter. It works better than the reciprocator, but its not as easy to get in and out of places.

Retail price on this machine is $599.

It's pricey for a trimmer-style machine, but it's a unique and effective piece of equipment.

If I hadn't just got sh!tcanned from my condo complex it may have been worth the cost just not to worry about slinging a rock through one of 32 sliding glass doors once a week...

I also have a couple places with pools surrounded by this fabric fence stuff placed 2" off the edge of the patio that I'm scared to death of slicing through because I'm pretty sure the panels ain't cheap.

Hmmmm, another toy I gotta/otta own.

this is is the coolest tool! i just got one and love it. cant wait to tangle with the next water moccasin that comes my way at the retention pond.!
