How important is a website?
Question for you guys most of my work comes from referrals etc. Im thinking of spending the time to build a quality website. Those of you that have them do your customers use them is it a good tool to get more work? is it worth the time and effort?
Thanks guys |

It's our number one tool to reach new customers. A good website is definitely worth any money and time you put into it.

Ours is very basic but over the last year we've had alot of people call from it. most saying they just did a basic google search.

get one. I have two and multiple domains. Simple websites, probably too much info but I get a lot of compliments from women who are researching services for their husbands. When i can't seem to make my point with a customer, that is, I can't seem to explain the difference between a chipper and a mulcher, I ask them to visit my website. I rarely have someone tell me that they don't have a computer but it happens.
In today's world, i think a website is almost as important to service providers who work out of their home, farm or ranch as it is to a store front for people who sell tangible goods.

Over 75% of my business has came through my website. I think it's very important, a lot of people look online for their services before anywhere else.

A website will do you no good unless new customers can find it. It is not near as easy as you think too have your site come up on the first page of search engines.

If you are doing up a web site, you might as well do up a FaceBook page at the same time. People spend more time on FB and then they get linked to your site from there. Twitter is optional.

Be careful with Facebook links. If you have a personal page and get a little rowdy or have a lot of drama on it, it might be visible to potential customers from your other page. I canceled my facebook page. Now I just use phonebook.
