DC area. Too late to overseed and fert?

I have had the stuff for almost 2 months but hurt my leg and Im just now able to do it. Is it too late or should I just sit on all the stuff until next year? We have frost in the AM but several days in the 50s.

Is the seed a high-quality tall fescue blend? I don't think it is too late...after all...in nature seed falls to the ground in fall and sprouts when conditions are right.

A neighbor of mine seeded with a perennial rye blend about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday it had sprouted and was about 3/4 inch tall. Very slow response, but it came up just fine.

A few days above 50 with good soil moisture should bring it up. It will be slow. Won't be too tall. Plant some inside for comparison. Keep it wet.

Here,,, we are preparing for Dormant Seeding, so if it isn't able to startup this year, it will establish by early Spring... At least that is true with cool-season grasses in this Zone... what are you planting???
Now that I know that clay's texture(platelets) has nothing to do with water infiltration, percolation, or drainage
,,, I wonder what does...
