Removing Chlorine from water

Do you guys think a Garden Dechlorinator would help removing chlorine?

Does anyone use one for making their organic compost tea?


I know this one will take out 85% chlorine....so I would figure it's better to get as much chlorine out....so there would be less of a chance of the chlorine killing microorganism in the organic compost tea.

Sodium Sulfite will remove 100% of chlorine. We used it to dechlorinate potable water prior to discharge into the environment. I do not however know what affects it would have on compost tea.

Does your water ever contain Chloramines? (Ammonia+Chlorine)

This product is safe for the water and (Aquarium fish)

Since Chlorine in water becomes gasous, let the water sit out (best with an airstone for circulation). The Chlorine (unless there is Chloramine instead, which has a stronger bond) will just release itself say, within 24-48 hrs or less.

Case in point - Ever have that chlorine smell come out of the tap fIrst thing in the morning? That was the gas that was formed.
