Update.. It's a SV600. Adjusted the valves and replaced the valve cover and started to put things back together when I saw a crack in the block. Took the flywheel back off and removed the top engine case. The lower case is cracked at the dowel pin and off to the exhaust side. If it weren't for the dowel hole being compromised I'd try JB welding the other crack, but I think it's done.

So is the block cracking a common occurrence? I see a guy on eBay selling internal engine parts... Everything but the lower half of the block.
