Smart controllers that adjust by days, not run time
Are there any out there that are not extremely expensive? Most of my customers have Pro-C so it would be great to use the existing controller. I'm not a fan of the "Solar Sync" btw. Would love to sell this to customers who cannot grasp the idea to adjust intervals as the weather changes.

Adjusting days between waterings would be useful, but not compatible with odd-even watering restrictions.

Nor is it compatible with water restrictions which specify which days are allowed.

We don't have watering rescrictions here, I only remember one time in the 80's we had one. I guess I'm SOL.

I like the Rainbird Smart clock. It will not run if the weather is a certain degree during allocated run time. I am not sure if it skips days in the winter or not. I think it runs less. Kiril may know more. I probably need to call Rain Bird and ask them what it will do.
I don't have watering restrictions either. I let my Smartclock water everyday or whatever it deems appropiate. |

Baseline soil moisture sensor? Installed one a few years ago, works pretty good. Pretty sure it will work with any controller since all it does is interrupt communication between valves and controller. If I remember right they suggest setting the runtime for peak daily ET and have it water every day. A little cheaper than a wireless solarsync.

Too many states have laws involving odd-even watering for controllers not to take it into account.

Been ignoring it though....that's why you set your timers to run during non-business hours. Like you said, water restrictions can be worked around. |
