Its a lot better in a hut with a heater.

I think I can remember last year the water was in the 40's for several days. That is serious here, fish start dieing when it gets that cold.

Finally got back on the water today!!

It's been a crazy spring, lots of rain.

Strong south wind made for very high tide, fish were scattered.

I did manage about 10 Trout, brought 5 home for the table.

I went out 2 weeks ago and we got over 60 crappie with the biggest around 10" We had an early spawn and now we have had some cold fronts and big storms to screw things up and lower the water temp, I hope to go back out this week.

16 inch rainbow trout caught on ultralight tackle.

Fished for about 3 hours today after Thanksgiving dinner. Beautiful south Tx. day to be on the water.

The Trout on top is 20" and the Flounder is 21 1/2".

Boat is still loaded may go again Fri or Sat or both.

PLS....i didnt read all the specifics of this thread but where at in texas are ya? We travel to corpus a few times a year and head out on Padre Island National Seashore to fish for sharks from the beach (and whatever else wants to bite. Its about a 9 hr trip for us to hit the sand..so we cant go as often as Id like, but the lawn mowing helps pay for the trips. We only made it down there twice this year though.

I enjoy fishing freshwater too for just about anything to include, bass, crappie, catfish, trout, etc. Here is a picture of my fishiing buddy out with me on the lake for a short trip...
