According to Kawasaki "Change oil after the first 8 hours of operation. Thereafter change oil every 100 hours."

The first thing you should do is take the 19hp motor off and pitch it. Then for around 1200$ you can get a 23hp. Takes about 20-30 minutes to change out. I recommend two people ,the bolts under the deck for the motor mount and the clutch can suck.
Either way the thing wont last much more than 24-2500 hours no matter what, but the cut will be much better. I run fully synthetic and change my oil when i remember or around once a monthish. |

You say it is new so I assume you bought it from a dealer. If it were me and I had these questions about oil I would talk to your dealer because you might void the warenty if you use the wrong oil. Also you should have chainged the oil at 8 hours and then go from there. I have a 19hp on my scag. It has over 2900 hours and I change the oil & filter (use original Kawasaki filter)every 75 hours with 30 weight pennsoil for air cooled engines.
