I still say rotors are best at that range. Would have to see it to believe it.

All of us with long experience have seen Toro Stream Rotor heads, along with their attempts to stretch the concept to a greater spray radius. (XP-300)

Mr. Likes High Pressure learned the hard way to never run a Stream Rotor more than 28'. Even with the 003 nozzles, if you were not head to head, and had at least 50 psi at the head, you will kiss the application away.

I was thinking about using these on a 60' x 80' lawn. Max spacing 30'. But they don't make a 360 version. Don't want to use the MP3000 since they don't really reach 30'. If you used the 3500, what would you use for the 360's in the middle. The RB5000 with low angle nozzles would work but the precip rate would not match up if I put the 2-360's on the same station and it really would not make sense to have a station with just the 2-360's only. What would you use?

Why 30 foot spacing? Wouldn't a 20 foot spacing make more sense?

Ditto, MPs will not throw that far, I've proved it.

I haven't used the 3500 but it's listed as 35' so I thought it might reach 30'. Have you tested the 3500?
On the 30' spacing, the actual length is a little more than 80 which comes real close to 30'. Hence the 30' spacing. If you were to use a 20' spacing what model would you use? I can never get a MP2000 to reach 20' so would you throttle down a 3000? |

You know, it's okay if you space heads closer than their radius of spray.

I can get the MP2000 to hit 20', but I wouldn't depend on it to perform acceptably at that spacing unless you are irrigating in a no wind scenario. Getting a MP3000 down to 20 feet without over spray is difficult. If I were to go this route I would put them on a RB 1806 SAM-PRS (30 PSI stem regulation) then use the adjustment screw for the rest. That said, I think you will find you can only get it down to ~23 feet +/- 1 foot with the above combination. If you have hardscape around the area you might want to test your maximum radius reduction before you finalize the design or put anything in the ground.
