What you think of this mower.
I was considering the scag 48" tiger for $2999 its a 2000 year model. Is this worth it? Check link below.

i try not to buy equipment with over 500 hours on it. i know a lot of guys that dont worry about that but i start thinking about repair costs adding up. i would much rather spend a few more dollars up front and have a lesser used machine. that being said you have to keep a watchful eye on the hour meter look for any signs it was tampered with. i have heard several stories of guys buying machines with low hours and come to find out the hour meter was disconnected. so i always check that area extremely well. without seeing the machine i have a tough time judging but to me the 48" exmark with under 500 hours for only 2 grand more seems like the better choice. your getting a machine with almost 950 less hours on it and a bigger engine. just my opinion good luck

seems a tad high, but not too much. for comparison sake, I just sold my 2006 WildCat 52" with 1700 hrs for $2400. Mine has more hours than the one you're looking at, but is 6 years newer. mine was in "fair" condition. used but not abused. If you need a cheaper machine, go look at it at least, sure won't hurt. but I woudn't pay 3,000 for it unless it comes with some kinda dealer warranty. who knows it might be immaculate shape or might be a pile. Ive read on here guys having gotten 3,000 hours plus out of their scags with little problems. but I'm sure that's not normal

Pictures would give a better idea of the mowers condition and what kind of a deal it is.

I wouldnt buy anything without seeing pictures. It sounds a little high for a 2000. if it were 2005+ i would say jump on it, but thats a little past what i would pay for something like that

I just sold one on ebay for $2000. It was a 2008 with 1200 hours. It smoked a little at start up and I told them about it, he gave me $2350 and we put rings and serviced it out for him. It was a 48" with 19hp Kawasaki. Hope this helps, I do price things right though....
