I never use the row haul unless I have a Heavy load. I ran a full tank trough hauling 9k and still got 8mpg, just like empty. It's a crew with a service bed on it. What year is your truck gc, sry for getting off topic

What about a two part folding ramp? I've seen them on trailers n box trucks you get a longer ramp but less sticking up.

I have an 02 2500HD Duramax and when i bought it, the best i could get out of it was 13. I put a cold air intake on it and a superchip programmer on it and now i get about 19 out of it without a trailer. The superchip is a pretty mild tune, it only adds 75HP but it makes a huge difference in throttle response, not too sure if it would help you when pulling a trailer.

I did find a set of 12' 'utv' ramps on epay.... only $600! I don't know if I would be willing put to that kind of money into a set of ramps or put it toward a liftgate. I've been thinking about a Mitsu landscape truck, but we do a lot of brush hogging and I'd hate to be put in a place where one truck might be down and not be able to haul the tractor. |

I'm in a similar situation, did you figure anything out?

thinking out loud...
Is your trailer open? Is the front of it clear of obstacles?
If so you could load with regular ramps from your trailer to your truck/s.

Hause, no not yet... I'm still thinking. I've found several 12' UTV ramps that are (I think) 18" wide and aluminum, but they are all $500+ I know a guy who has a set and I've been trying to get up with him to see how they work. He has a 1 ton box truck (one of the small Uhaul types) and he can put an ATV in it easily he says.
Monroe, all of our trailers, except my equipment (farm tractor) trailer all has racks in the front. |
