Liguid For Parts Cleaning
I was using 2 cycle gas mix in a little tub inside a plastic container lined with news paper. That actually worked pretty well but then I was at Harbor Freight and couldn't pass on this plastic tub with pump. My question is what kind of liguid should I use in the plastic tub for parts cleaning?
Yes I know this is piece of junk....my other deal worked real well. I could blow off dirt into that newspaper and not get it all over. I could change out the paper monthly. And the little plastic tub was from soap and had lid to shut after using. |

You can buy parts washer solvent like the kind that's used in Safety-Kleen machines. I last bought some way too many years ago to remember its brand name. Some mechanics use Stoddard solvent. Just GOOGLE parts washer solvent.
I too use gas and 2cycle mix in a stainless dog food bowl at work. At home I use a Safety Kleen type machine with actual safety kleen solvent.

I am a little hung up on the $123 per 5 gallon. I do use their cherry bomb hand cleaner.

Man, I couldn't deal with the smell of that stuff!!!
The solvent I used years ago was designed to be mixed with clear kerosene, so you might try using just plain clear kero. I read somewhere that you can deodorize it by mixing in some rubbing alcohol. Never tried it though.
