Ok...the most common way this happens is when you unplug the white wire...the wire that grounds the coils when you turn the key off...
You usually unplug the white wire in the engine harness to bypass the safeties or to isolate the kill wire ..

Fish...this is the answer I was looking for...disconnected kill wire from the engine connector.

That's part of the answer...probably have at least 1 smoked coil too...change everything..

Question #4....Kohler 25 with DSAM...

Installed 2 new coils..sequenced DSAM with tester...checks good...
Condition...coils have slight misfire until engine warms up...then runs fine...

In case you were wondering...
If the coils aren't gapped at .013...they will misfire..
As the engine warms up..the block expands the airgap...from ..002 to .004...
Thus bringing the coils that were gapped with an .010 business card into spec....

Question #8....Briggs 6 hp Quantum...vert shaft..
Condition...installed new carb...good fuelflow to carb..still have to push the primer 10 times to start..
